EL MUNDO has gathered at the Events Centre Feria Valencia to businesses, institutions and researchers in the second edition of the gala PREMIOS INNOVADORES, an initiative of this newspaper that seeks to reward the work of entrepreneurs who are committed to competitive differentiation getting out of the ordinary.
In its second year, the awards have been divided into six categories: 'start-up' public-private partnerships, industry, quality of life, innovative and innovation of the year.
Hector Dominguis picked up the award for best innovation. The Grupo Dominguis general-director created a robot, Tirant III, which can replace men in the cleanup of nuclear piping. The firm has managed to combine the forward speed of the rotating machine gun casting a molten metal alloy in pipes for proper plating thickness. The savings on the cost of changing the pipe is 50% and sometimes higher. The robot is already being used in central Mexico's Laguna Verde.
